It’s freezing

Yesterday we hit a high of 59, yet last night around 11pm it had dropped down to 23. And this morning it was all of 17 degrees.

Today we never even got close to freezing. I think the warmest I saw was 24 today. Tonight we drop down again to around 20.

Tomorrow with any luck we should rise to 34. I’m hoping we actually get there.

To give you an idea of what today was like we even had light flurries. We had wind, from a light breeze to a stiff breeze. With the cold weather that meant our wind chills were down into the single digits. Even my dog didn’t want to go out. It was not a day to take a walk outside unless you were well dressed for the cold. Though we had to go out and I saw a woman in flip flops, no socks she was the exception. Most everyone was dressed in jackets, hats, scarves, warm clothing.

I expect tomorrow most people will be dressed similar to today – warm and bundled.

More weather

Well, last week was warm weather on the weekend. Today is now Tuesday and we have cold weather on the way. This past weekend was warm, nice weather. Today we have winter weather warnings. We had a high today of 59, but they’ve been warning about the cold weather coming in. It’s now 10pm and 32. We are going for a cool 21 tonight. The next 48 hours are set to get worse.

The weather channel says it’s 26 outside with a wind chill of 12 outside. I do believe them. It’s cold. And the wind has a true nip to it. A freezing cold nip.

Tomorrow, Wednesday should be 31 and 17. Thursday they are forecasting 35 and 24. Now obviously that doesn’t include the wind chill. Some areas are supposed to get down to wind chills in the minus figures. Now if you are in Montana the temps should be -5 tomorrow.

And the fun part. Next Monday we should be back in the 70’s.

We shall see what Mother Nature brings us.

Rain

They said we would get rain and we did. Not a lot, but the other night we got 2.12 inches of rain. It all occurred overnight, and the next morning it was blue skies. It’s been blue skies since. Today was so lovely we even ate lunch outside. We got up to 70 today. Monday we should be up to 80.

It’s been so warm they are saying next week will spend the days in the 80’s. A bit unseasonable I would say, but you never know if that’s entirely true. Nor how long that will last. But the forecast says by the middle of the week we’ll be back down into the 50’s for highs.

But since the weather has been nice, and we got rain, I’m expecting things will begin growing. We’ll see. Often February is one cold month, or at least has many cold spells. We’ll see what happens this year.
